“The customer is king, and we treat all of our customers like royalty.” That’s one of the secrets to Tommy Campbell’s success as one of the Island’s most experienced butchers. He has been in the trade for more than 60 years and today has loyal customers who come near and far to visit his shop in Snaefell Road, Willaston, for top quality home-made burgers, sausages, meat pies, delicious steaks and Sunday roast joints.
Before he moved his business to its current premises 16 years ago, Tommy had 3 shops in Duke Street, Douglas. Before that, in 1973, he opened his first butcher’s shop in Alexander Drive in Douglas. A testament to Tommy’s commitment to always putting the customer first is that he has many customers today who began visiting his shops in Douglas decades ago.
Tommy now works alongside his colleagues Stuart and Willie, and they are all proud to support our ‘Make Sure It’s Manx’ campaign. He also sells vegetables and eggs from Manx farms — and the flour Tommy and his team use to bake meat pies and fruit pies every day is Manx too.
Whatever they buy, customers can be sure of the best quality local produce all served with a smile — and a bit of good old Manx banter thrown in for free!
