Isle of Man Meats supports Love Lamb Week - IOM Meats

Isle of Man Meats is proudly supporting Love Lamb Week (September 1st to 7th).

Love Lamb Week was started by Cumbrian sheep farmer Rachel Lumley in 2015. It is now a UK industry-wide initiative involving the Agriculture & Horticulture Development Board (AHDB), the National Sheep Association (NSA), the National Farmers’ Union (NFU), Red Tractor, HCC in Wales, LMC Northern Ireland and QMS in Scotland.

Here on the Island, we’re endorsing the messages behind Love Lamb Week to encourage more consumers to buy Manx lamb and try out some new recipes.

Alan Croly, our Customer and Communication Manager at Isle of Man Meats, said: “The Love Lamb Week website has some great ideas which we hope will encourage consumers to take a fresh look at how lamb can provide tasty, nutritious, and great value meals any day of the week, not just the traditional Sunday roast. We’re also expecting lots of activity about Love Lamb Week on social media, and we’re hoping some of our loyal customers will join in by sharing their stories and photos about how much they enjoy Isle of Man Meats lamb.”

Whether you’re eating out or cooking at home you can share your delicious lamb photos and stories at #LoveLamb and #LoveLambWeek

Our Manx lamb is growing in popularity both on and off-Island because of its high quality and excellent taste. In June this year at a party hosted by the UK’s Ambassador to Switzerland to celebrate the Queen’s birthday, the menu included Manx lamb supplied by Isle of Man Meats. Isle of Man Meats lamb also won a 2-star award at this year’s Great Taste Awards, widely regarded as the food and drink sectors’ equivalent of the Oscars.
